Related Work

Related Work#

A considerable part of our work is to find and read papers published by other researchers.

The usable security and privacy research community mostly publishes at conferences and workshops, not in journals. Below, you can find some strategies to find papers that might be related to your work.

Peer review: You should focus on high-quality, and peer reviewed related work. Avoid wikipedia articles, blog posts, news websites and arxiv publications!

Using Search Engines#

Search engines should be your first starting point to find related work. You can use general purpose search engines such as Google or Bing. However, there are search engines that focus on scientic literature:

Replication & Artifacts

Replication Package#

Replication package and artifact submission is a separate process from the rebuttal, but it is often a good idea to start preparing the replication package during the rebuttal phase.

Don’t Publish PII! A replication package must not include any personal identifiable information of participants.

Remove Keys and Secrets! Before publishing a public version of the replication package, ensure that all keys, secrets, passwords, or any other sensitive information have been removed from the package.

Rebuttal

Rebuttal#

Congratulations! You were asked to write a rebuttal response for your paper. That is a great achievement! It means your paper made it to round two of the reviewing process or the program committee discussion and the program committee considers accepting it for the conference. Writing a good rebuttal response is the next step and might help your paper to get accepted.

Keep in mind that while even an awesome rebuttal won’t save a submission with damning reviews, submitting an empty rebuttal might probably kill a submission accepted basically everywhere but on paper (Saw it happen a few times as revier - Dom). Do not expect too much from writing a rebuttal (unless the reviewers made serious errors), but still try your best.
